About

One Mission, One Vertically Integrated Solution

Retain Health serves as the umbrella management services organization connecting RetainYourBrain, RetainMed, AlzLabs, and its other initiatives. While each serves a different role, they share the same underlying mission: to make the science of brain health more accessible, personalized, and actionable—bringing together education, technology, research, biomarkers, and clinical care to help people better understand and manage their brain health.
2013

The Foundation: Alzheimer’s Prevention Clinic

Richard Isaacson, MD, founded the Alzheimer’s Prevention Clinic at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian, pioneering a precision-medicine approach to Alzheimer’s risk reduction.

The clinic was built around a foundational idea that continues to guide our work today: Alzheimer’s disease may not simply be an inevitable consequence of aging. By identifying and addressing individual risk factors years before symptoms appear, there may be opportunities to support brain health through personalized prevention strategies.
2014

Expanding Access Through Alzheimer’s Universe

Alzheimer’s Universe (AlzU) was created as an educational and research platform to bring evidence-based information about Alzheimer’s prevention, risk factors, and brain health to a much broader audience.
AlzU represented an important next step: using technology to extend preventive neurology education beyond the walls of a specialty clinic.
2023

RetainYourBrain Clinical Trial Begins

Recruitment began for the RetainYourBrain randomized clinical trial, supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health.

The study evaluated a digital platform based on principles developed through years of preventive neurology clinical practice, exploring whether personalized brain-health guidance could be delivered effectively at scale.
2024

AlzLabs Clinical Research Begins

AlzLabs began clinical research focused on developing a simpler, more accessible approach to Alzheimer’s disease screening.

The goal: develop an at-home collection-based screening test using a finger-prick blood card, helping move brain-health testing toward greater accessibility and scale.
2025

From Research to Real-World Access

RetainYourBrain commercially launched, translating years of clinical research into a platform designed to provide practical, personalized guidance for managing brain health.

That same year, the AlzLabs Precision Diagnostics CLIA-certified laboratory was established, creating the laboratory infrastructure to advance blood-based biomarker testing and research.
2026

RetainMed Launches Biomarker Testing

RetainMed was established to connect emerging brain biomarker science with personalized clinical care.

Biomarker testing launched in South Florida, giving patients access to blood-based insights alongside clinicians trained in Dr. Isaacson’s preventive neurology approach. The model brings biomarker results into the broader context of each patient’s brain, metabolic, and overall health.
2027

Expanding Preventive Neurology Nationwide

RetainMed plans to expand nationwide, creating greater access to personalized preventive neurology care and emerging biomarker testing.

The vision is to make specialized brain-health care available to far more people—regardless of where they live.
2028

Toward a Low-Cost, At-Home Screening Test

AlzLabs is working toward the launch of a low-cost screening test using an at-home finger-prick blood card.

The goal is to make screening for Alzheimer’s-related biomarkers dramatically more accessible, helping identify risk earlier and creating new opportunities for people and their clinicians to take informed action.

The Future of Preventive Brain Health

What began in a specialty Alzheimer’s prevention clinic has grown into an interconnected approach to brain health: education through AlzU, personalized technology through RetainYourBrain, biomarker research and diagnostics through AlzLabs, and clinical care through RetainMed.

‍
Each initiative serves a different purpose, but all are built around the same principle: the best brain-health science should not be limited to the people who can access a specialized clinic. Our goal is to help bring personalized, proactive brain health into everyday care—giving more people the knowledge, tools, testing, and clinical support to better understand their brain health and take action earlier.
